We are incredibly proud of our first Limited Designer Bag designed by Emily Sims.

Doesn’t it look beautiful? The design is based on the national bird of Nepal, the peacock. The bag is easy to use for your shopping and stylish enough for a trip on the high street. So come on ladies join us in starting a new trend that contributes directly to our great cause in Nepal.

Neil Houghton, our brilliant photographer, is responsible for the amazing pictures below of the ‘Be Inspired’ Must-have-Bag in use.

Contact us directly if you would like to order one. This is a limited edition so be quick not to miss out!

We would love to hear your thoughts on it!

News from Nepal

Posted by anniek on Sunday, October 9th, 2011 | Comments (0)

Dear supporters,

We are nearly in our second year of existence and we have decided to continue to support our partnering organisation Kopila Nepal with their extraordinary work in remote areas of west Nepal. The trauma recovery centre is partly finished but there are still rooms to be build and it needs to be furnished. They are satisfied with it being very simple and basic and don’t ask for much but we feel that proper furniture and additional resources are needed such as toys, games, cushions, art materials to offer a positive and welcoming environment for child and adult patients coming to the centre.

Their outreach programme needs to continue as well and requires more staff and resources to reach more people in remote areas of West Nepal. In a nutshell… your donations are welcome! Every little bit helps! And remember 100% of your donation goes directly to our projects!

Have a look at the following video for news on our project in Nepal:

IBP’s INSPIRING DIVERSITY Fashion Show – London 2011- Sponsored By Amway

Posted by anniek on Saturday, September 24th, 2011 | Comments (0)

Saturday, 17th September – the time had come! It was the big day of our Inspiring Diversity Fashion Show – sponsored by Amway. For weeks and week we worked alongside Amway staff members to organise, promote and prepare everything for our first ever Fashion Show in aid of our project in Nepal.

Designers had to be found, models to be selected and volunteers to be sources. IBP volunteers worked hard on this and were happy for all the support received from our sponsor Amway who helped a large deal with the management of the logistics involved.

The hard work continued on the day itself; a lot had to be done…. Was it even possible to fit everything into the next 8 hours before the show was about to start? Let me tell you this – even with more challenges arising throughout the day – yes, it was! With such a wonderful team, we managed to get everything ready for this incredible event!

4 amazing international designers arrived with their assistants – two of them all the way from Holland.
10 beautiful models were prepared with make-up and hair, ready for the catwalk.
Our photographer Peter Wtulich (http://www.wix.com/peterw2lich/home-website#!portfolio) had his camera ready. And our wonderful host Zoe Hardman was all set to get the show started.

After a drinks reception in the main area of Amway’s Flagship Centre in Holborn, guests were invited to the upstairs area, which we had transformed into a stunning setting for our catwalk show.

First up was Taiwanese designer Hsin-Yu Lin (www.linhsinyu.com). Her fashion was dominated by flowers and light fabrics, which made the models look beautifully fairy-like.

Next up was z-mode (www.zmode.co.uk). The amazing lady behind this label – Victoria Rangayah – kindly lent her dresses to our host and myself (Theresa) and I must admit, I felt glamorous in it! There was a variety of dresses shown on the catwalk all incredibly elegant.

During the break to follow, guests had the opportunity to mingle, try Amway’s products and enjoy the delicious canapés. Our special guests of the evening – Nepalese Ambassador His Excellency Dr. Chalise and Michael Meissner – seemed to enjoy the evening along with all other guests.

During the break guests also had the chance to bid on the auction items donated generously by our designers. Also we auctioned framed drawings by Nepalese children.

Back up to the second half of the show starting with Dutch Ethical designer Rianne de Witte. Her feminine gowns can be worn for many occasions and were made of the most beautiful materials and patterns (http://store.riannedewitte.com/).

The grand finale of the show began with a dress-making presentation by Sheguang Hu (www.hufashion.com). The Chinese-Dutch designer who brought along his hairdresser (who is also the personal hairstylist of the Dutch Queen) and showed his all in red glamorous collection.

After this inspiring show it was time to go over to Holborn House for our After-Show Party. We celebrated with designers, models and guests until the early hours of the morning. Some of them were especially pleased when we announced the lucky winners of our raffle. No wonder with prizes like: a weeks accommodation in an Italian holiday home.

Even though it was a long and stressful day, for many of us this has been one of the best experiences so far…and the excitement still kept 1 or 2 IBP volunteers awake when it was finally time to sleep…and dream of our next Fashion Show!

We are all so grateful for having met so many amazing people along the way and are thankful for everyone who has participated to make yet another successful event happen!

Theresa (IBP Events Manager)

Ascot Polo and Inspired By People

Posted by anniek on Sunday, September 18th, 2011 | Comments (1)

It’s Saturday morning, 10th September and IBP team is on the way to Ascot Park for its first ever Polo tournament. Well, we didn’t participate as such, but we were watching the Polo securely from a distance while promoting the charity amongst all spectators and Polo players.

We were fortunate enough that Ascot Park had offered us a promotional stand during the Pro Am City Championships, for which we are very thankful.

After the initial set up of the stand with all our lovely Raffle prizes that were kindly donated by various companies and people (see list below ), the three volunteers were ready for the crowds and to promote the charity.

We were able to watch the whole tournament from our stand as well, which was a great experience. So far we only had seen the Polo in movies on TV like Pretty Woman. Thus it was very exciting to see it live – it’s amazing how the Polo players were racing from one side to the other on their horse while still hitting the ball towards their goal!

During the breaks, we talked to guests about Inspired By People and sold raffle tickets. At the end of the day after the Polo, we announced the lucky winners of the generously donated prices, including an experience day of Polo and dancebuzz Taster Classes!

We would like to thank everyone who donated something and bought raffle tickets. You can be sure that all your money is going directly towards our projects in India, Malawi and Nepal!

We also hoped that you enjoyed the day at the Polo with us – we definitely did!

List of raffle prize donors:

Ascot Park offered a Discover Polo Experience voucher
Nataliya from www.dancebuzz.co.uk
Antonio for the 250 York sit-up bench
Sophie from Warner Bross
Hotel Chocolat

You might see us around on some different locations promoting our causes!

And in case you can’t read what it says on our banner pictured on the photographs below: Text Yess25 £2/£5/£10 …. This is a great support from vodafone who make it even easier to donate to our causes. It’s just a text away and can be done from anywhere and as often as you like from within the UK!

Juvaria, Violeta, Theresa and Adam!

Inspired By People Contemporary Exhibition & Auction in London

Posted by anniek on Wednesday, July 6th, 2011 | Comments (0)

On the 24th of June we had organised a ONE night Contemporary Art Exhibition & Auction at The Gallery Soho. A group of 9 international artists exhibited their work and helped to raise awareness for our projects in Nepal, India and Malawi.

Through a silent auction we raised £240 which will go directly towards our projects!

On the evening we served free cocktails and canapes. The canapes were offered to us by Just Joe Catering and they were simply delicious! Thank you Just Joe Catering team!

Our special guest the Nepalese ambassador, His Excellency Dr Chalise, had joined us on the evening and shared a few inspiring words on the current situation in Nepal and the fact that the people there still need a great deal of support.

All together a wonderful and creative evening which helped to raise awareness and money for our projects.

A big thank you goes out to our fantastic volunteers that have played a big role in the preparation and organisation of this event. Without you we wouldn’t have done it! You can spot them on the pictures! :-)

On to the next…. See you soon and don’t forget to have a look for us on facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=650984601

Warm wishes,
